Sonic the hedgehog

I've been asked to do several pictures of console game characters for someone with a games blog.
So far the only one I've done is Sonic the hedgehog.

It reminded to me being at school and drawing things from games magazines.

I think he's lost a bit of weight since I drew him at school... must be all that running for all those years.

Children's book Illustrations p3

Just when I'm down to my last few Pictures to finish for my book, I suddenly noticed a continuity error!

On the picture in the top left corner. There is no grass underneath the window but there is on the next image.

At least I was able to see the mistake in time. I suppose it just shows how hard it is to keep continuity in a series of images.

I quite like the replacement image.
The thing is, I may end up cutting
one or more of the pictures from
the final story so the change may
have been for nothing but its best I
have the option for my final edit.

I left this picture out of the finished book after all. I still like the finished picture but it seemed unnecessary.

Council Tax Band

Three Songs cover art

Is that Andy formally of Das wonderlust with another band!
By the sound of it I'd say yes.
Two Guitars, Synth and Drums. ... does this mean no feature of a Casio keyboard or a xylophone?
I sure hope not.
Here are some links to this interesting band.

weasel

Whilst out taking wildlife photographs I took this sequence of images of a weasel chasing a vole, which then nearly got ran over... well, the vole got ran over and the weasel ended up with a fairly flat meal.

I went and put the images together to make a slide show / video and its now on you tube.

Most of the pictures were no good to print from but the end were amazing!
There are some up on my etsy shop at the moment (link below).

I just found the slideshow I uploaded to youtube as a test.
Meerkat's are funny.

pointillism

I've just finished a fantasy picture.
I was told by someone who saw some of my work that it is pointillism but I'm not sure.

The image is of a giant Nautilus stranded in the shallows as people through spears etc at it.
This present picture is an on A4 paper using a Pilot Microball pen. It took approx 8 and a half hours.

Did some step by step pics but they were boring so I left in 2 of them and some close ups of it finished.

hope you enjoy

Dyslexia

Hello, My name is Matthew.
I'm Dyslexic.

It's stopped me from doing things and though I did not do too well at school I did go on to do and complete 3 different further education causes (GNVQ, HND and access to a degree) plus a few things like basic IT and plastering :)  .

((((((by the way, I'm not spell checking this just so you can see what my spelling be like))))))
(If you think you might be Dyslexic here's some links)
( British Dyslexia association =  http://www.bdadyslexia.org.uk/   )

It's probably not too much of a supprise then that I love Drawing, Painting and Photography. Please feel free to look at some of my previus post for things I've dun... er I meant  -done- .

The thing is, I also love reading! It annoyes me that some people can read so well yet waste that tallent.
I've got through about 6 Frank Herbert books and 1 Arther C Clark but it takes so long and its such a struggle. Thats why I get audiobooks now (used to be I'd get them from the library but they have not got a good selection so I get everything from audible now... maily in there sales).

The thing is I'd love ot write books.

I therefoer started on a few children's books. I meen why not, I can get ti spell checked adn do my own Illustrations!
Plus I'm up for a challenge.

Quite frankly, the chances of my getting a decent paying job with my reading, righting spelling and math skills is proposterus.
I may as well work for my self.

Here are some links to my work
Amazon Kindle Digital Copy of my book

If you are Dyslexic, don't let it or anyone else get you down. Things may be a struggle but everything in life worth doing or having takes effort and work.

Think about the amount of famus people who have Dyslexia... Richard Branson... Eddie Izzard... Orlando Bloom... Mackenzie Thorpe.
There's a heck of a lot of us out there.

Children's book Illustrations p2

As mentioned in a previous post, a while ago I wrote a children's book.

After a lot of sketching, re thinking and then some slightly more angry sketching, binning of sketches etc, I finally came up with some pictures I felt reflected the story (I put the sketches up in a previous post) and now I am but a few images away from a completed set of Illustrations!

Let me sum up the story first before you see the ones done so far.

Four friends are out in the woods having fun.... By the way they are also approximately 4 inches tall.
Suddenly one of them has something precious stolen by a Magpie.
One of the four goes off in search of the item.
Along the way he meets a Badges who gives him directions, gets chased by a Stoat, flies across the forest, get mauled by the Magpie whilst getting the missing item, meets up and gets a lift from the Badger (on his back... he doesn't have a car or anything. That would just be silly :D ) and leaves what was stolen at his friends house.

I'm hoping this is conveyed in the images so far.
Here they are
